The WritersFest New Shoots was a rather interesting experience. My favourite work Sarah Liu's short story. It had a beautiful plot and was very well written. The personal story made everything work and the story itself was just wonderful. My least favourite work was the other Sarah's poem "Pomegranate." I thought that the sudden change from the fruit to the snowy scene was very unnecessary and confusing. For a second, I wasn't even sure if she was reading the same poem. It didn't seem to work very well. Overall, New Shoot has inspired and motivated me to write even more and I loved the experience!
